Continuously having more and more plastic cards overflowing our wallet? A jungle of passwords for countless services? Which password do I have for which service? Troubles we all know, since the procedures for authentication and authorisation for the ever more services are growing limitless.
Time has come for a simple, user-friendly and independent solution to identify ourselves as the person that we are, where and for whatsoever we have to do that. Nothing works simpler as doing this with our mobile phone. Since the mobile phone is the one item that we carry with us always and everywhere in today’s life.
It’s an easy principal: Each SIM card has a uniquely assigned identity that can be checked at the point of sale with a correspondent wireless unit connected to the backend-system, thus verifying the owner’s explicit identity. The individually established payment procedures can then be executed. Hereby, the wireless checking of the SIM identity occurs independently of technology (Bluetooth, TCP/IP, NFC, GSM, etc.).
Advantages are obvious and future-proof:
- A simple solution
- You always have your mobile phone with you
- Plastic cards will become obsolete
- The SIM-card usually persists for several mobile phone generations
- Unlike with near field communication (NFC) technologies, the solution is applicable already now. NFC technologies are still immature and must be additionally implemented into mobile phones.
- Unlike with current authentication & authorisation technologies, no further checking of personal data is required (as for example with e-ticketing, etc.).
- The principal is the advantage, not the technology! The solution is independent of technological development of surrounding systems.
